Aussie radio winners at London International Awards

Leo Burnett Sydney was the most awarded Australian entrant this year in the Radio section of the London International Awards, being awarded five statues. Other winners in the Radio section of the LIAs included Eardrum and DMG.

  • Gold in Radio – Script Writing for Bundaberg Red titled “Catfish”

  • Silver in Radio – Beverages for Bundaberg Red titled “Catfish”

  • Silver in Radio – Script Writing for Bundaberg Red titled “Butterfly”

  • Bronze in Radio – Beverages for Bundaberg Red titled “Butterfly”

  • Bronze in Radio – Beverages Campaign for Bundaberg Red titled “Butterfly”, “Catfish” and “Pig”

Sapient Nitro, Brisbane

  • Gold in Radio – Sound Design for Earphone Bully titled “Earphone Bully”

The Monkeys, Sydney

  • Silver in Radio – Retail Campaign for IKEA Storage Workspace – Declutter, Destress titled “High-lighter”, “Yo-Yo” and “Undies”

  • Bronze in Radio – Retail for IKEA titled “Lost Toy”

Eardrum, Sydney

  • Silver in Radio – Corporate Image for Commercial Radio Australia titled “Ear App”

  • Silver in Radio – Direction for Earphone Bully titled “Earphone Bully”

  • Bronze in Radio – Direction for IKEA titled “Highlighter”

DMG Radio Australia, Brisbane

  • Bronze in Radio – Conceived & Produced by Station for Subway Restaurants titled “Australia’s Favorite Subway Cookie: Who Will You Vote For?”

In 2012, a total of 15,418 entries were received from 76 countries.

The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when only 2,600 submissions were entered.

Eardrum Australia’s Ralph van Dijk was one of the international judges of the prestigeous awards.

 

The Grand LIA Winner for Radio went to European company serviceplan, Munich for Voluntary Humanitarian Organisation – “Radio Ghosts”
