Australian Podcast Awards 2018

Winners were announced in front of a big crowd at Melbourne’s Melba Spiegeltent on May 5th. 
 

Tim Reid, a finalist in the Business and Marketing category, was MC as podcasts produced both independently and by some of the country’s largest media organisations collected were awarded.

ABC podcast ‘Trace: Who killed Maria James?’ with host Rachel Brown took out the Documentary Style category, best Comedy podcast went to Bad Producer Productions ‘Childproof’ (Tony Martin & Sarina Rowell), PodcastOne’s ‘The Next Billion Seconds’ with Mark Pesce took out the Technology and Science category, and Best Newcomer went to ‘Dating Upside Down’, hosted and produced by Alison Tinderland. 

The popular vote went to ‘The Weekly Planet’ from Planet Broadcasting Network, hosted by James Clement and Nick Mason.
