Beat the Drum Concert celebrates 40 years of triple j

As part of the Sydney Festival triple j, Sydney Festival and Fuzzy will take over Sydney’s Domain on January 16 as part of the massive 40 Years of triple j celebrations.
 
More acts have now been added to triple j’s Beat The Drum concert line up which already includes Hilltop HoodsThe PresetsThe Cat EmpireYou Am IVance JoyBall Park Music and The Preatures. Joining the headline acts for short performances and cameo appearances, in alphabetical order, are Bernard FanningBriggs, Daniel JohnsDave Faulkner (Hoodoo Gurus), DraphtDZ DeathraysGotye, HermitudeHorrorshowIllyJoelisticsMark McEntee (Divinyls), Megan WashingtonPaul DempseySarah BlaskoSeth SentryThundamentals and Tom Iansek (Big Scary/#1 Dads). 
 
The concert and live broadcast will showcase the music triple j has championed over the last 40 years, with a promise of “heaps of surprises along the way,” including some acoustic arrangements, collaborations and covers of legendary Australian hits made famous over the years on triple j says a spokesperson. “The concert will encapsulate the cultural impact triple j has had over the last four decades and really is a once in a lifetime event for music fans.”

The concert is just the first announcement for Beat The Drum: Celebrating 40 Years of triple j. In 2015, there will be an exhibition, TV documentary, book, CD release and of course, radio and online content celebrating 40 years of triple j.
