Blighty heading home to Adelaide for Sportsday SA

AFL Hall of Fame legend Malcolm Blight will return to his home town to co-host Crocmedia’s Sportsday SA alongside Kane Cornes from January 15 next year.

The South Australian icon is one of the game’s greats, honoured as the 27th official “Legend” in the Australian Football Hall of Fame. A Brownlow and Magarey medalist, Blight also became a coaching great when he delivered Adelaide’s only two flags in 1997 and 1998.

Blight will be heard on Sportsday SA at 6pm on FIVEaa and from 5pm through regional South Australian Grant Broadcasters stations 5CC, 5CS, 5AU, 5RM and 5MU.

He returns home after almost two decades away and says he is delighted to be back in Adelaide and taking on a new challenge.

“With lots of friends and family still here, I’ve been looking to make the move home and this felt like just the right opportunity at the right time. It’ll be a first for me being a regular on radio but I am looking forward to talking footy alongside Kane to a local crowd,” says Blight.

Crocmedia CEO Craig Hutchison is thrilled to be welcoming Blight to the team:

“Having grown up in Adelaide’s western suburbs and working his way to achieve the highest accolades in football, Malcolm is the perfect fit for our parochial South Australian show. It’s hard to imagine anyone who has made a bigger imprint on the game in South Australia than Blight and pairing him with Kane, a 300-game great at Port Adelaide and silver bullet media star, is extremely exciting.”

“With two of the best football identities in town at the helm, South Australian’s won’t miss a beat when it comes to footy & sport. Kane and Blighty will have all the news and won’t shy away from sharing their opinions especially when it comes to Port Power and The Crows,” says Hutchison.

Sportsday SA is broadcast Monday to Thursday 6pm – 7pm on FIVEaa and Limestone Coast 963, Monday to Thursday 5pm – 6pm regionally on 5CC, 5CS, 5AU, 5RM and 5MU.
