Central Coast radio Stars share their career info

The new Central Coast station Star 1045 has been on air for a couple of weeks and most things are running smoothly for the new station.

radioinfo put a few questions to some of the station’s presenters about their radio careers:

.

Breakfast presenter Todd Widdicombe
is the son of a carpenter and his footy loving Mum makes a top trifle. One of his earliest memories from his teen years was stealing dosh from his Mum’s purse to buy the Craig Mclachlan song “Mona” on cassingle.

Todd says he fits in well with his famous on air buddies Meshel and Saxon. They’ve all shared the limelight at some stage with Saxon on Big Brother, Meshel on ABCTV and Todd calling the numbers as the Bingo Master at the Cairns RSL in QLD.

His passions are chiko rolls, choc milk and his wife and son and he dreams of one day recording a cover of Shannon Noll’s cover of “What about Me.”

Lynne Hayes has spent the past 3 years living anywhere but NSW, and now Haysie has “finally come to her senses and moved back to God’s own country with her ford family wagon, her golden retriever and her fiance!”

She reckons the radio thing’s really paid off – she’s met some of the world’s biggest stars like The Fonz, Ben Stiller and Nikki Webster. But this all pailed into insignificance when Haysie gave her Mum a Better Homes and Gardens magazine personally autographed by Noni Hazelhurst! Now Marion reckon’s her daughter’s expensive education is finally paying off.

FIRST RADIO JOB

The radio bug all started at SAFM Adelaide. I had been studying a short radio course where Sean Craig Murphy (currently an announcer on Triple M Adelaide) was a guest speaker. After harassing him enough the poor guy managed to get me off his back by getting me a gig answering the competition line phones. They then gave me the opportunity to semi “produce” a late night show called the “Dating Game”.
