Chasing rumours of a new Chaser show in 2021

Rumours are spreading that The Chaser team may return to radio or podcasting in 2021.

In 2020 the Chaser team waged war on everything from the Corona Virus to Alan Jones in their podcast as they survied a year of massive disruption in the whole world.

The team are keeping their cards close to their chests, but it is believed that discussions are ongoing about another podcast series.

Will the Chaser team be able to ride the podcast wave and be as successful with podcasting as they have been in Radio, TV and Online?  2021 may reveal the answer to that question.

The Chaser team added new members last year, bringing in two female cast members Zoe Norton Lodge and Rebecca De Unamuno.

Last year’s podcast via Nova, was only once a week and was very well received by existing fans, new listeners and sponsors. There is talk that this year a daily show, perhaps released at breakfast time, might be one option.

The Chasers’ 3-4pm radio show on Triple M Sydney which ended in 2019 doubled the ratings for that timeslot after 12 months. Their last tv show drew about 1.5 million viewers and The Chaser’s War on 2020 at the end of last year is believed to have generated about 14 million views globally across various platforms, thanks to some bonus publicity gained from waging war on former president Trump.

And of course, when they wage war on anything to do with radio, as they have done while hosting the ACRAs, The Chasers always use radioinfo as their go-to source of research.
