Clairsy, Matt & Kymba make it 1000 shows

Dean Clairs, Matt Dyktynski and Kymba Cahill of mix94.5 Perth have just celebrated their 1000th breakfast show.

The trio have been broadcasting the early mornings together since 29 March 2016, and over that time, Clairsy, Matt & Kymba have celebrated many milestones, including:

  • Over $1,000,000 worth of cash and prizes awarded to Perth listeners
  • Ten times as Perth’s number 1 breakfast show
  • 23 times as part of Perth’s number 1 commercial radio station

Dean ‘Clairsy’ Clairs, whose radio career spans over 37.5 years, including 20 years at mix94.5, reflected back on the time as some of his best, and said, “There’s a special bond when you wake up at 4am five days a week and share your early mornings with the same two people. They’re my second family and I’ve always considered myself lucky that I get to do my mornings with Kymba and Matt. Especially since they make me cups of tea while I’m busy panelling the show! To celebrate 1000 shows with them is definitely a milestone in my career.”

Head of mix94.5 Content, Erica McGee, said: “I remember when Matt auditioned to join Clairsy and Kymba for our new breakfast show, and I knew we had a winning combination. For me, being part of their team, and seeing them develop and become the show they are today, makes me really proud. We’ve had some really great times together.”

Even Premier Mark McGowan weighed in: “1000 shows, my goodness. What happened on the 565th show?” he joked.
