Costello junior more into radio than politics

While his old man spent his university years in the political and the debating societies, Peter Costello’s son, Seb Costello has been spending his time on air at a radio station, SYN FM.

Young Costello, who hosts breakfast shifts on the Melbourne community youth station, thinks his career lies more in media than politics, unlike his Federal Treasurer father.

Costello the younger is a second-year RMIT communications student who is interested in radio presenting and reporting.

SYN, the Student Youth Network, has expanded beyond the limitations of a community radio licence and now produces a tv show, interactive websites and a regular magazine as well as its on air broadcasts. The station is known for its extensive training programs for young broadcasters.
