Courtney Ammenhauser takes on breakfast at FBi Radio

Courtney Ammenhauser is the new host of FBi Radio’s breakfast program,Up For It, beginning Monday January 13.

Courtney has been one of FBi Radio’s regular Mornings hosts for the past year, and is also part of award-winning performance collective, The General Public, who have performed their at festivals across the country including Woodford Folk Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival.

She takes the reigns from Ruby Miles whose epic run on the show saw it grow to over 50,000 daily listeners according to the community radio McNair listener survey.

Courtney says: “I’m so flippin’ excited to be the new presenter on Up For It and can’t wait to see where we take the show in 2020. There are a whole bunch of talented people working on the show behind the scenes and I feel super lucky to have them along for the ride.

“FBi plays such an important role in sharing Sydney music, art and culture with its listeners and I’m stoked to get to do that every morning while people slurp on their morning coffees.”

FBi Radio Program Director, Dan Ahern, says: “For the past 17 years FBi has backed strong female talent on Up For It and it’s great to see that tradition continue with Courtney’s appointment. Courtney is a very versatile broadcaster who is equally comfortable talking about local music, news, arts events, and doing comedy. There’s a trend in the Sydney metro market towards solo brekky shows that bring music to the foreground, and we think that Up For It is really well positioned in that context.”

Courtney joins a long line of Up For It hosts who have gone on to do exciting things in the media and music industries including Ruby Miles (2017-18), Lucy Smith (2015-16)- new host of Mornings on Triple J, and Georgia Hitch (2013-14) – ABC News Reporter.

FBi Radio has also appointed a new Executive Producer of Up For It, Issy Phillips.

Issy is a comedian, writer and producer and was named one of GQ’s three brightest millennial comics and her acclaimed stand-up show ASMR Live has been performed to sell out audiences across Australia.

Issy will lead a producer team that includes FBi volunteers Darren Low, Bernadette Nguyen, Lil Scott and Ben Hansen.

Some new additions to the 2020 Up For It format will include Tiny Chair Concert, a regular live music performance where the artist sits on a small kid’s chair, as well as a finance segment for young people, Making Cents.
