CSU farewells commercial radio class of 2013

14 students from Charles Sturt University have recieved their Bachelor of Communication (Commercial Radio) degrees at the Faculty of Arts graduation ceremony at CSU Bathurst on Wednesday 18 December.

This brings the number of students who have graduated from the CSU commercial radio degree since 2005 to over 60, the majority of whom are still in the commercial radio industry both locally and internationally.

Lecturer of commercial radio at CSU, David Maxwell said: “Once again we are proud to graduate a talented group of students most of whom were employed as they completed their internships with member stations and are already making a contribution to their employers and the radio industry. You don’t need a university degree to succeed in radio, however it is a great foundation for a rapid career rise.”

CSU will enrol a further 20 students in 2014, with 15 expected to graduate in 2014.

CSU has also announced a special programme for the recruitment of students from regional markets which will be implemented by CRA members from 2014.
