Deborah Cameron takes over 702 ABC mornings

Recently appointed Manager ABC Local Radio NSW, Jeremy Millar has announced that Deborah Cameron will join 702 ABC Sydney in 2008 as presenter of the Mornings program to replace Virginia Trioli

With a career spanning more than 25 years as one of Australia’s leading journalists, Deborah has worked in New York, Indonesia and most recently Tokyo, where she became the first woman to hold the job of Tokyo correspondent for Fairfax. Her career began with the Warrnambool Standard in Western Victoria followed by The Canberra Times. Deborah has worked with The Sydney Morning Herald for the past 20 years and has been a regular guest on ABC radio.

Deborah is married to Greg Earl who is Asia-Pacific editor of The Australian Financial Review. They have a son and a daughter.

Deborah will start on air in late January 2008, broadcasting the Mornings program Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 11am. Trioli recently resigned her radio duties to take some time out and focus on her ABC TV work.
