Dicky Knee Goes Mobile!

Radio identity, John Blackman, has revived Australia’s ‘best known head on a stick’, Dicky Knee.

After 28 years of making Aussies laugh on ‘Hey Hey It’s Saturday’, Dicky has embraced the information age with his very own weekly SMS gag service to help finance a family reunion.

Since the demise of Hey Hey in 1999, his parents, Syd Knee and Daphe
Knee, along with his sister, Ophelia Knee, have been living in caravan park in Kununurra.

Punk brother, Ack Knee, has been roaming around Australia with a not very successful grunge band (the Dead Dingo Dongers) and Dicky’s other brother (and little known boxing sensation), Kid Knee, is also travelling with a boxing troupe, having the ‘living suitcase’ punched out of him every night.

Dicky’s Mum wants to get the Knees together again (Syd says: ‘what’s new’?) and reckons once the family is reunited, if there’s any money left over, they’ll chip in to buy Molly Meldrum a personality and Dicko a heart!

They say laughter is the best medicine and Dicky reckons his weekly one liner service will keep you not only healthy but he guarantees you’ll get a laugh (or an enigmatic smile) from your friends, family and workmates alike with your new found sense of humour.

Subscribers simply SMS the word, JOKES, to 199 DICKY (199 34 259). Once a week, subscribers receive an SMS with a couple of hilarious one liners, guaranteed to make them chuckle. Each SMS costs $1 – that works out at $4 a month – less than the price of a cup of coffee!

For interview opportunities, phone Dicky (or his mentor, John Blackman) on (03) 9509 0100 or 0418 333 336.
