Do you like cars, big TV’s and rock: Triple M ad preview

Triple M Sydney will launch a new marketing activity this Sunday with tv commercials promoting The Grill Team breakfast show. The lighthearted ads are themed ‘everything man,’ focusing on the Grill Team’s ‘manly men’ Mark Geyer and Gus Worland. A variety of TVC’s will feature everyday Sydney blokes ‘doing what men do best.’ We can reveal them to you in advance today here on radioinfo.

A montage of manly antics is complemented by a voiceover addressing blokes with the following messages, “Hello Men… do you like cars, big TV’s, rock, fixing stuff, sport, barbies, footy, your mum, your mates mum, bar fridges, nudie runs, practical jokes, bucks nights, the next day, a meatlovers pizza with extra meat, doing manly stuff in manly… then you’ll love Triple M’s Grill Team with Gus Worland and Mark Geyer, they’re the manliest men on radio.”

Triple M Content Director Jamie Angel has told radioinfo: These ads are a bit of fun and reinforce what The Grill Team is all about – blokes that love life, sport, hanging out with mates and rock. The idea of ‘everything man’ reflects the show positioning which is not only for men but also women who want an insight into a man’s world.

“The Grill Team has doubled its ratings in 12 months to 4.7 points and we’re continually building on that momentum, Mark and Gus are doing an incredible job and they’ve got a great team at Triple M behind them.”

Austereo’s Head of Marketing and Communications Nikki Clarkson says: “We are thrilled with this new campaign for The Grill Team. It builds on the male skew activity we developed for Triple M with Slash last year and targets The Grill Team as ‘the’ Sydney show for men 25–54 years of age.

“We’re already winning this demographic, so it’s clearly Triple M territory and competitively strong. The everything man concept is a simple idea for a great brand that’s been executed exceptionally.”

The campaign copywriter is Austereo’s National Marketing Manager Adam Bower. Production credits include:

Production Company, Fabric Films: Director – Charlie Fergusson, Producer – Carla Robertson, DOP – Bob Humphreys, Art Director – Michael Harper, Stylist – Brie Lawrie (Mark Geyer has a stylist!).

Post Production, The Post Lounge: Editor – Sam Stoke, Colourist – Nuala Sheridan, Online – Steve Tedman, Sound design – James Starnes.
