Expert panel to judge smooth creative entries

smoothfm is inviting entries for its Creative Challenge; a trade promotion designed to showcase the creative and commercial potential of the smooth environment.

The winning idea, which should ideally cover terrestrial, DAB+, online and social, will receive a $500,000 integrated campaign for a client or brand, including media and production across smoothfm’s on-air, digital and experiential platforms. A smooth getaway is also up for grabs for the winning entrant.

Since launching four years ago, smoothfm has evolved from a two market broadcast station, to a multiplatform entertainment brand with a national footprint on DAB+ and Australia’s newest lifestyle destination, the recently launched digital property smooth.com.au. This latest offering provides advertisers with the opportunity to connect with a loyal audience within the unique and trusted environment of smooth.

Kate Day, NOVA Entertainment National Commercial Strategy Director for CREATE said, “Over the last four years smoothfm has gone from strength to strength, with its unique content model that now extends naturally into the digital and experiential environments. With a multiplatform national footprint and a loyal audience proven to be highly engaged, smooth presents incredible commercial potential for advertisers. We’re excited to see some exceptional ideas come through this initiative to inspire possibility and further ignite the industry’s interest in smooth.”

The smooth Creative Challenge is open to any client (new or existing) with entries accepted directly from in-house marketers or via media, creative, public relations or communications agency representatives employed to act on behalf of a client or brand.

The competition launches on Monday 6 June and entrants will have six weeks to come up with a big idea. Finalists will have access to NOVA Entertainment’s CREATE team to take their idea from a concept to a fully-fledged campaign, including the implementation and amplification of the idea, to drive the best results for the advertiser.

Final pitches will be judged by a panel of respected industry experts, with experience across marketing, advertising and brand innovation, which includes:

  • Russel Howcroft – Network TEN Executive General Manager
  • Penny Rowland – The Australian Ballet’s Director of Marketing
  • Andre Eikmeier – Vinomofo CEO and co-founder
  • Tony Thomas – NOVA Entertainment’s Chief Marketing & Digital Officer
