Fallin’ up the charts

Eclipsing all competition, Jessica Mauboy’s ‘Fallin” was the most played local track between 1 July – 30 September with 8,285 spins.

The song was played across 26 different commercial stations, with Nova919 in Adelaide spinning the track 524 times during the quarter. More than 3000 spins behind in second place was Vance Joy’s ‘Lay it on me’, although the hit received a greater range of spins across 28 stations. 

Lorde’s ‘Green Light’ was the third most played local track, with 3,199 spins. Lorde also takes out No.9 with ‘Perfect Places’ racking up 1,246 spins. Zayn and Sia’s ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ saw a swift climb up the charts to No.8, receiving 1,723 spins even though the track was only released on 7 September. Sia’s ‘Cheap Thrills’ also made the list at No.14 with 1,110 spins. 

Other artists with multiple tracks making the list include Aussie duo Peking Duck, sing-songwriter Dean Lewis and Sydney-based Starley.
