FBi Sydney now streaming

Sydney’s FBi RADIO, home to new Australian music and culture, has finally caught up with the 21st century and last week began online broadcasting with a simulcast web stream.

FBi launched in August 2003 with a remit to capture the best emerging talent from across the full spectrum of Australian culture. Music is FBi’s main passion, with 50% of the music being home grown, with half of that from Sydney artists. Music formats played on Fbi include Rock, pop, indie, hip hop, dance and electronica, as well as alternative music genres, such as garage, drum’n’bass, post rock, world beats and more.

Fbi’s Stuart Buchanan says Fbi is “earning itself a reputation for pouring energy into promoting new bands and producers. Bands such as Wolfmother and The Vines got their breaks through FBi, and every day more artists are being added to the playlist.”

An estimated 200,000 listeners tune into Fbi 94.5FM across a week, and now the rest of Australia, and the world, can hear the station’s programming thanks to the support of BigPond Music. In addition to BigPond’s support, hundreds of FBi listeners recently delved into their own pockets to help make the stream a reality, donating anywhere from $10 to $1,000 to cover the costs of the set-up.
