Former Seven West executive jailed for fraud

Former Seven West executive John Michael Fitzgerald has been jailed for at least three years.

Fitzgerald defrauded the company of $8 million over a period of 13 years.

Seven West Media previously owned the Spirit and RedWave networks in Western Australia, but sold them to SCA last year in a deal worth $28 million.

Fitzgerald, who was sentenced today in the NSW District Court, pleaded guilty to two counts of obtaining money by deception and four of dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage, and has now paid back most of the money.
