Fresh 92.7 welcomes new Breakfast show for 2017

Hot off the heels of Fresh 92.7’s first full-time Breakfast show, Ben and Liam, announcing their departure to do breakfast on triple j, the station was flooded with “incredibly talented operators” sticking their hand up for this highly coveted opportunity.

Through hundreds of applications, including world class radio hosts with impressive jobs and experience up their sleeves, Fresh can reveal the new show for 2017 will be Alex Lokan and Dally Nijjar – “Alex and Dally”.

Dally is no stranger to the audience or staff at Fresh 92.7 having, like many, gotten his radio “break” in these studios as a former volunteer. He’s since gone off to hone his craft more extensively in the Riverland as an announcer, and award-winning copywriter.

Alex is also returning to Adelaide from the Riverland where she’s been working as a newsreader and Breakfast co-host on Magic 93.1, following a stint as a newspaper journo. Alex will be Fresh 92.7’s first ever paid female announcer.

Of his appointment, Dally said; “I lived and breathed Fresh while I lived in Adelaide. I love the music, the people and the vibe. The first time I ever went on air was at Fresh and because of the opportunities Fresh provided me, I’m now able to do the thing I love. I can’t WAIT!”

Alex added; “I was absolutely pumped to learn I’d be joining the Fresh team in 2017. I don’t remember what I said when I found out I got the job, but I assume there were a few four letter words and some screaming, so I handled it like a pro, obviously.”

Fresh 92.7’s Content Director Ryan Burgess said; “Dally will bring an amazing energy, willingness and cheekiness to the show, while Alex will offer the best turn of phrase and cutting commentary I’ve heard from anyone on-air in this market. I am genuinely excited to welcome Dally back to where it all began, and introduce Alex to the exciting things happening at Fresh in 2017 and beyond.”

Alex and Dally start at Fresh 92.7 in Breakfast from January 9, 2017.
