Gold 92.5 stands up to domestic violence

For the fourth year running Gold 92.5 and breakfast trio AJ, Bridge & Spida will stand up against domestic violence by hosting their annual Stand Up Against Domestic Violence Paddle Board event at Currumbin Creek this Saturday.

Working in conjunction with White Ribbon Australia, Gold 92.5 will gather to raise awareness and put a stop to domestic violence across the Gold Coast and Tweed Coast.

Breakfast host Bridget Daley says: “We need to listen, to act and to change this human rights issue. This is the fourth annual Stand Up Against Domestic Violence Paddle Board day and as community leaders we need to be conduits for change, for awareness and for support.”

Gold Coast and Tweed Coast locals are encouraged to come along and take part in stand-up paddle boarding during the morning and make an individual pledge to stop violence against all people.

Bridget says: “We need those who have suffered or those who feel isolated and alone to know that the Gold FM family and wider community will aim to help heal their scars and Stand up Against Domestic Violence. Make sure you get on board”

According to Dean Gould, from White Ribbon Australia: “Domestic violence can only be minimised through people across the community and taking an active role in speaking out about it. Stand Up Against Domestic Violence Paddle Board event is a terrific Gold Coast initiative that combines community involvement with advocacy. “
