Good news out of Canberra

2CC PD Pete Davidson is over the moon with the result of the station’s fourth annual one day Radio-Thon for Canberra’s Ronald McDonald House.

In 12 and a half hours they raised $52,120 which will go a long way to helping maintain the vital services at Canberra’s Ronald McDonald House.

Throughout the day many Canberra identities phoned in or dropped by the 2CC studios to show their support and donate including. Dick Smith, many politicians, major corporate, Raiders players and Brumbies Coach Stephen Larkham – pictured with 2CC’s Marcus Paul.

The house has been open for just over 2 years and has already helped house 500 families who have sick children requiring hospital treatment at the Canberra Centenary Hospital for Women & Children.

Davidson said, “The generosity of Canberran’s each year amazes me. Some of the stories you hear of those who unfortunately have to use the services at RMHC brings tears to the eyes. It’s an amazing place and the support the staff and over 100 volunteers provide to those who stay there is inspirational.”
