Gosford radio survey released

Radio ratings for Gosford on NSW’s Central Coast have been released as part of the commercial radio industry’s initiative to highlight the reach of regional radio.

Commercial stations 101.3 Sea FM, 2GO and Star 104.5 serve the region, which has a population of 276,000 people aged 10+ and all three were top performers.

Sea FM was the station listened to most with 19.9%, followed by Star FM with 14%, just ahead of 2GO with 13.7%.

Sea FM breakfast was also #1 with 18.8%, Star FM second with 15% and 2GO third with 13.2%.

Joan Warner, CEO of Commercial Radio Australia, said Gosford is one of 19 surveys that have been completed across regional Australia since the start of the year.

“We’re pleased that we can now start to undertake more regular surveys across regional Australia, particularly in places like Gosford, because it’s an important market for radio,” she said.

“Thirty percent of Australians live outside the major cities, so it’s important we have a good understanding of the audiences in these areas and how we can serve them better.”
