Fairfax Radio General Manager Graham Mott has received some very good news about his cancer. Mott tells radioinfo the results from his latest CT/PET scan show that there are no active cancer cells anywhere in his body.
Mott says the scan was from head to toe and he has a good chance of the cancer not returning:
“I still have to see the doctor every 2 months so he can monitor my progress. The type of cancer I had has a 40% chance of returning or, if you like, a 60% chance of not returning.”
He has told radioinfo it has been “a tough physical battle, but a much harder one mentally,” particularly during February, March and April.
“I’ve learned a lot about cancer and the way in which it can be treated. I’ve also learned a lot about myself in what has been a very challenging time in my life. I remained positive most of the time; however I did have some dark moments on days I found things hard to deal with. It is such a relief to get the all clear and I remain positive I can stay that way.”
Mott sends his thanks to the doctors and nurses who have helped him since being diagnosed on 7 August 2009, and to colleagues and radioinfo readers who have wished him well.
“I’m also thankful to everyone at work; they’ve been so patient and understanding. The support from my friends and industry colleagues has been magnificent, but my biggest thank you goes to my wife Kerri who has been a rock during a difficult and uncertain 10 month journey.”
At Last some good news for Motty ,No shortage of positive thoughts going your way,All the very best in your recovery.
Cheers,
Dave Smith
