Grant Broadcasters up the ante on localism on the Sunshine Coast

Grant Broadcasters radio stations Hot 91 & Zinc 96 Sunshine Coast have made a series of announcements that increase and solidify a commitment to local content

Hot 91 will become the market’s local content leader with 100% Sunshine Coast made shows from 5am till 10pm weekdays.

Starting with Dave, Sam & Ash for Breakfast from 5am, followed by the Hot 91 workday with Ben Cullen till 3pm, and now after 12 years at Hot 91’s sister station Zinc 96, the popular Breakfast team of Nugget & Al will make the switch to Drive on Hot 91 from 3pm 7pm.

The Hot 91 line up ends with the nationally syndicated and Sunshine Coast produced Random 30, weeknights from 7pm 10pm.

Over on Zinc 96, drive host Steve “Bilko ” Bilokin ( pictured right) will move to breakfast and the station is on the hunt for the next local breakfast star to fill the gap left by Nugget and Al.

Grant Broadcasters National Content Director, Ryan Rathbone, said, “Bilko has been with Zinc for 12 years and the listeners love him. It’s exciting to think we can add to that by discovering a new local radio star and continue to provide live and local content to our audience.”

Zinc 96 listeners will have the chance to apply to join Bilko for breakfast and ultimately decide who is his co-host, with more information on how to apply to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The Zinc 96 changes come into effect from 21st September while the new Hot 91 line up begins on 6th October.
