Hobart’s 107.3 Triple M raises half a million dollars for local children’s ward

107.3 Triple M’s Dave Noonan and Al Plath announced the grand tally of $526,926.58 for the 2018 Give Me 5 For Kids campaign and presented the donation directly to the Royal Hobart Hospital this morning for use in the Children’s Ward and associated paediatric departments, live on Hobart radio.

With key fundraising events including a scenic flight of Tasmania in a QantasLink plane, record-breaking wheelie bin walks on the Eastern and Western Shores and the construction of another charity house with Lyden Builders, the GM5FK team were again stunned with the amount of community support, both from individuals and businesses.

The funds raised in this year’s efforts will go towards the purchasing of much needed paediatric equipment and services to benefit Tasmania’s sick children including new ultrasound machines for the neonatal and intensive care unit and scanners that will service maternity specialists, state-wide.

Dave Noonan says, “It’s just mind-blowing to think that we as a community could raise that much. It shows just how generous Hobart is when it comes to the health of our kids and making sure they have the best possible services at the Royal Hobart Hospital.”
