iHeart Media poised to buy Triton Digital

iHeartMedia Inc. has agreed to terms to purchase Triton Digital from parent E.W. Scripps Co. for US$230 ($297) million. 

The deal will provide the giant radio and podcast business with a suite of highly developed measurement technologies to help convince advertisers of the value of Audio. 

iHeart is the biggest radio broadcaster in the U.S. and partners with ARN, here in Australia. iHeart along with its major competitors have been busily expanding its podcast and streaming capabilities to claim a slice of thie burgeoning market.
 
Apart from measurement tools, Triton Digital provides a distribution platform for programmatic ad placement based on target audience requirements.
 
With operations in more than 50 countries, Triton will continue to service its own client base, as well as iHeart, that’s made up of a wide cross-section of broadcasters, podcasters, and online music streamers.
