Jacket off for charity

Winter has come, it’s cold and there are lots of people doing it tough on the streets of Australia. So to help the homeless and less fortunate, triple j”s The Doctor is asking listeners to Jacket Off for charity.

Got a jacket, jumper or cardie hibernating in your cupboard? Donate it to help raise money for the people who really need it.

The Red Cross, Salvos, Vinnies, Lifeline and The Smith Family have 1000s of charity stores and donation bins across the country, and are ready to accept anything listeners can spare.

To help raise awareness of this cause, The Doctor, aka Lindsay McDougall is asking listeners to post a photo of their donation and tag it with #jacketoff. On twitter, he is also seeking the best op-shop granny.

The station will upload the best good-deeding-selfies to the triple j website, to join heaps of passionate messages from artists like The Wombats, 360 & Pez, The Preatures, Jeremy Neale, Alison Wonderland, Something for Kate, Peking Duck, Bad Dreems and Wallaby player David Pocock.

Get involved in the warmest of causes by taking your jacket offf for those less fortunate then yourself.
