Jim Soorley will spend one of his final weeks as Brisbane’s Lord Mayor as a talk radio host on Talk 1116 Brisbane’s 4BC.

Soorley, who co-hosted the Breakfast slot just before Christmas last year, will this time host the Drive shift solo, while regular host Chris Adams is on holidays next week.

Soorley will fill the 3-6 pm shift next week from Tuesday-Friday (May 6-9). His role will include all the usual Drive program elements.

“I had such a great time the last time, showing the pros how it’s done, that when the opportunity came up again, I jumped at the chance,” says Soorley. “It’s a great way to engage with the people of Brisbane and the last opportunity to do so before I leave office.”

4BC General Manager David McDonald thinks it is “a terrific way for Brisbane people to farewell their Lord Mayor of 12 years before he leaves office on Monday, May 19.”
