Talk radio veteran John Stanley is back on air in a regular Monday to Friday shift on 2GB
Stanley has survived more than 30 years of management and name changes at 2GB/2UE and is one of radio’s most trusted voices.
He’s taken up the opportunity of taking over the night shift after Chris Smith turned it down as part of a swap with Steve Price who’s moved in to Smith’s old Afternoon shift.
Nights is a big deal on 2GB because it also broadcasts into 3AW Melbourne, 4BC Brisbane and network stations. It will also air on Friday nights Following the AFL and NRL seasons Nights with John Stanley will be heard on Friday night too.
The program will combine John’s vast knowledge and expert analysis of politics, business and sport, with his passion for lively, engaging and entertaining talkback radio.
John Stanley will be joined nightly between 8-9pm by Jane Marwick. Jane is a respected broadcaster known for her work on 6PR Perth and Sky News, as well as her insightful newspaper columns.
John is one of the most experienced radio presenters in Australia. Starting as a junior radio reporter, he worked with Laurie Oakes in Canberra before joining 2GB as the state, then federal, political correspondent. In 1988, John joined 2UE as Assistant Programme Director. He was also a producer during the early days of The Alan Jones Breakfast Show, before making a more permanent move behind the microphone to host his own programs.
Most recently, John hosted Breakfast at 2UE before moving to 2GB, presenting The Weekend Edition with Erin Molan and filling in for Ray Hadley and Ross Greenwood among others.
