K rock launch a petition for Geelong’s giant Ute

K rock Geelong’s drive team are on a mission to help bring more tourists to the Surf Coast by building Geelong’s “Big Thing” – a giant 1934 Ford Ute.

Drive hosts Herbie and Josh, say, “Australia is famous for its big things, so we feel we need one in Geelong to help attract more tourists. And what better choice than something designed and built here – the 1934 Ford Ute.”

Their campaign is well under way, gaining political support from Federal Member for Corio, Richard Marles.

“There must be a place we can have a big thing…maybe next to (old) Ford (factory) we can have a giant ute…on the way into Geelong”, Marles recently told the popular drive duo.

Herbie and Josh put the call out for suggestions, with the idea of a the iconic Australian car beating out a giant Hills Hoist and big surfboard. The aim now is to collect 1,000 signatures on their petition, which they will then present to the City of Greater Geelong.
