Kate Tim & Marty: The Greatest Drive Show Ever?

Paul Jackson seems to think so.

As Group Programme Director for Nova Entertainment, he would say that, wouldn’t he? It’s his network’s Drive team that commands 12.4 per cent of surveyed listeners in the five metro markets with 1,620,700 tuning in every week, according to the latest GFK figures released just last week.

Not that their competitors are slouches but when this three way battle began about two years ago Kate, Tim and Marty were tipped to come third. Instead they’ve consolidated first.

Kate, Tim & Marty, NOVA– 1,621.70 / 12.40%

Hamish & Andy, TODAY – 1,372.30 / 10.30%

Hughesy & Kate, KIIS – 1,228.80 / 9.20%

“They are almost taking the piss now,” says Jackson. “It’s one of the great radio shows. In ten years people will look back and ask what is the greatest drive show show ever and yeah, there are three or four to pick from but these guys could be number one for a lot of people.”

In city by city shares, KTM come in at number 2 in Sydney, pipped by sister station smooth 95.3, and number 3 in Melbourne behind 3AW and H&A on FOX.

But KTM hold down the number one spot in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
