Kerry Peck retires from Bathurst Broadcasters

Kerry ‘Pecky’ Peck has been given a large farewell at the studios of Bathurst Broadcasters after he decided to hang up the headphones permanently.

He was the voice of Bathurst for 30 plus years, working at 2BS in the early 70’s before returning from 2LF Young in 1980.

Pecky hosted the Monday to Friday breakfast programs through to 2011 when he had an immune system problem with his liver, which almost cost his life.

Fortunately he was able to get well enough to return on Saturday morning to host the Weekend Wireless Program.

Pecky anchored a number of community fundraisers on his breakfast show.

Appeals for the Daffodil Cottage (original building), two flood appeals in the 1980’s that raised around $30,000 each, appeal for Jaws of Life equipment for S.E.S. and a number of others.

He was presented with a golden microphone as a keepsake from staff.
