Kiama Community Radio launches a one hour pilot

Kiama Community Radio (KCR), has launched with a one-hour-long pilot, available to listen to and download now from their website.

KCR is dedicated to communities in the Kiama area, from Minnamurra in the north to Gerroa in the south and Jamberoo in the west and was launched off the back of the COVID-19 crisis in a bid to reconnect the local community at a time when many are feeling disconnected.

The pilot features local music and interviews and is co-hosted by local comedian and actress, Diana McLaren and founding committee member, Graeme Gherashe.

Graeme explains: “Following months of hard work, we’re thrilled to put this pilot to air and finally give something back to our local community that has been struggling for such a long time.

“We hope that the new service will give our local artists, business and community groups a new way to reconnect with the local area and share their stories about life post-lockdown and moving forward.”

Initially launching as a weekly one-hour-long show via the website, over time KCR plans to produce more audio content which will be accessible via podcasts, webcasts and possibly over other channels.
