Melbourne listeners wins $20,000.
A Melbourne listener has won $20,000 as part of KIIS 101.1’s Jase & PJ Birthday Balls competition.
The breakfast duo select a ball from the barrel at random which represents each day of a month. Listeners call in and are told not to disclose their birthday to the hosts before a ball is picked at random.
When the month of May was announced, caller Tim who is a truck driver with two kids, was looking to put some money towards a house deposit and called in.
May 16th was pulled out of the barrel and though it wasn’t his birthday, Jase & PJ were feeling generous and decided to give Tim another chance at the jackpot.
Low and behold his birthday, May 19th was the lucky ball.
Tim then called his partner Eden live on air to announce he had won $20,000.
“This is going to change our lives,” Eden said through tears.
The comp has only seen one winner prior to last week’s jackpot when a caller took home $10,000 after they were offered the option to take half the money, and have half the balls removed from the pool for an increased chance of winning.
