Kyle Sandilands has told hit92.9’s Heidi, Xavier & Ryan, that he’s afraid of returning to homelessness telling the breakfast team “I’m driven by a deep fear that something will happen one day and I will have to resort back to that, and that’s what pushes me every day.”
Sandilands has been open about his homelessness in the past, which saw him living on the streets of Brisbane for roughly a year as a young teenager in the 80’s, eating whatever he could steal.
Despite his success later in life, Sandilands says the experience of being without a home is something that continues to haunt him.
The interview was part of hit92.9’s drive to raise awareness around Homeless Week.
Having heard a podcast (google search terms: game changers radio episode 45 kyle ) on his life and what makes him 'tick', I would like to see a biography about how he visualised getting out of rut, gave himself direction and how with confidence was able to negotiate a lucrative contract.
Such a book could help others who may be facing tough times.
