Media Sales Mastery Podcast season 3 starting soon

In late 2019 Jamie Wood hit the 10-year anniversary of working in radio sales and in July, after 11 years atARN, he moved into the position of QLD Sales Director at oOh! Media.

He says, “I’ve been fortunate to progress through both direct and agency sales and for the past 7 years have lead award winning teams across 2 metro markets.  This is a tough industry to forge a long-lasting career, and despite challenges, set-backs, frustrations and the odd “pull your head in” moment, I have genuinely enjoyed every day in this profession.

“Reflecting on my time, one common theme has emerged; how often I was ready to call it quits.  I came to find this was a common issue in the industry.  You see whilst we have degrees, courses, trade sites, magazines, blogs, books and a plethora of other resources for those working in marketing and advertising, there is almost nothing available for those of us who’ve chosen to work in media sales.

Jamie responded to this need by creating The Media Sales Mastery Podcast as his way of trying to give back to an industry.

Jamie says, “In each episode we feature a different thought-leader covering one specific topic within the Media Sales discipline.

“Radio heavyweights like Wade Kingsley of the Idea Business, Steve Smith of Entertainment Strategy Group and Josh Busteed of Arabian Radio Network have all learnt their considerable expertise.  There are also several international and local experts from different media publishers sharing best practice.

“As Season 2 concludes I’m putting a call out to anyone working in media sales; Let me know what topics you think would help you excel in this amazing profession.”
