Mel Greig’s commitment to Jacintha’s family

Mel Greig is in London to offer her personal response to Jacintha Saldanha’s family.

Although she has not been officially called to give evidence in the Saldahna inquest, Greig has arrived at the court and said she is prepared to speak if required.

Whether or not she is requested to give formal evidence, she has offered to meet with the family if asked to do so.

She tweeted from London:

I made a commitment to the Saldanha family that I would answer any questions they have, on or off the stand, I’m here to uphold that promise

It is almost two years since the nurse was found hanged at the nurses accommodation where she stayed, three days after she put the prank call through to Kate Middleton’s hospital room. The inquest, which was delayed several times, has now begun in London.

Earlier today, Jacintha Saldahna’s family spokesperson Keith Vaz said on behalf of the family:

“It has been a long road for the family and I deeply admire the patience, humility and dignity they have shown throughout this traumatic time. It is right that they finally gain closure.”
