MG departs The Grill Team after 8 years

Mark Geyer will join the Triple M NRL coverage.

He today announced he’ll be sleeping in for the next few years as part of the NRL team from 2018.

MG has been the tallest member of the Triple M Grill Team since it began in 2009, and following its 2000th show celebrations last week he’s decided it’s the right time to shift his focus to his two greatest passions in life – family and footy.

“My daughter Rafferty was a baby when I started breakfast radio, she’s now 10 and I’ve never been able to drop her at school,”  MG told The Grill Team.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better way to have spent the past eight years; with our Triple M listeners and The Grill Team family! I’ll certainly miss the daily laughs but I’m really excited for a new adventure with Triple M NRL.”

MG, an Australian international and New South Wales State of Origin representative second-rower, also boasts a Grand Final win with the Penrith Panthers and has agreed to head up Triple M’s NRL coverage long-term.

He’ll still be appearing regularly with the Grill Team throughout the footy season.

MG will call footy each weekend on Triple M’s national NRL coverage as well as star in a new NRL based weekday show.
