Molloy’s final Bunga Bunga party

The 2012 Bunga Bunga’s Royal theme involved British themed food, royal guards, and an abundance of Pimms.

Mick Molloy and the Triple M Hot Breakfast team suited up for theBerlusconi-inspired party last night at the South Melbourne’s Motel nightclub, a venue co-owned by chopper-travelling broadcaster Luke Darcy.

VIPs and Triple M listeners walked the red carpet alongside a Shetland pony in a tuxedo. There were also Corgis and a couple of dwarves dressed in royal guard attire.

Swimwear designer and model, Ellie Gonsalves and Triple M favourites including Higgo and Dangerous Dave, posed for photos with guests as they made their way inside.

Guest of honor Ron Jeremy, cut the ribbon to declare the party open and set the stage for the evening’s entertainment, including a trumpet player, burlesque performances, the Bunga Bunga anthem and a performance by Miss Nude World.

Guests were also treated to a VB fountain and a croquembouche made from mini meat pies.

Plenty of local identities turned out to join in the fun, including Tania Zaetta, Derryn Hinch, Andy Lee, Barry Hall, Wayne Carey, Bree Laughlin and Dave Hughes.

With the festivities kicking on into the night, it was no surprise to see #bungabunga trending on Twitter around Melbourne, including a rare tweet from Mick Molloy himself.

@mickmolloy: My only tweet this year is dedicated to #BungaBunga. It’s here. Bring your A-Game.

This was Molloy’s final Bunga Bunga, telling the Herald Sun: It’s too much pressure. Now I know how Hugh Hefner feels when he hosts his Playboy parties. I give and I give, yet somehow I feel strangely empty.”
