Mt Gambier Survey figures have Hit 96.1 on top

Some interesting figures in the first survey release this year.

While there is little change to the overall numbers who have most listened to stations, Limestone Coast’s 963AM Triple M (17.2, down .03), Limestone Coast’s Hit 96.1 (35.0 down 2.5), ABC South East SA (21.5 up 1.5) and triple j (12.7 up 2.6), a couple of demographics have delivered interesting results.

Hit 96.1’s 10 – 17 audience fell from 90.1 to 62.9, and Triple M’s 55 – 64 audience dropped from 36.1 to 22.6.

Triple M picked up some of the 10-17’s, and most of their 55-64’s moved evenly to other stations, though about 5.4% are unaccounted for.

In Breakfast Hit 96.1 still leads (35.4 down 2.8) from ABC South East SA (23.0 up 1.5) and Triple M (14.3 down 4.1) with triple j making the biggest move adding 6.0 to be at 13.5.

This is the first survey for Mount Gambier Radio stations Limestone Coast’s 963AM Triple M (previously known as 5SE) and Limestone Coast’s Hit 96.1 (previously known as 96.1 Star FM)

The region was last surveyed in April 2016.

Conducted by Xtra Insights between 4 – 23 February this is the first of more than 20 regional surveys to be undertaken this year to provide up-to-date data on radio audiences across regional Australia.

CEO of Commercial Radio AustraliaJoan Warner, says, “The Mount Gambier survey will provide important comparative information for the stations and help businesses understand the radio audience in the area.”
