New Community Licences in Qld & NSW

The ABA has invited applications for new community radio broadcasting licences for Mackay and Yarraman in Queensland and the Dunedoo area of NSW.

Acting ABA chief, Lyn Maddock, says the Authority’s planning process has identified a demand for new community services, operated by people living in these parts.

Applicants can contact the ABA’s Licensing Section on 1 800 226 667 or (02) 9334 7700 for copies of an information booklet or access general details from the Authority’s website: www.aba.gov.au/radio/services/licence_types/community/index.htm

Applications must be received before midnight on Friday 17 September. From Friday 24 September, copies of all applications will be placed for perusal on: www.aba.gov.au/radio/services/index.htm, and in the Mackay, Yarraman and Dunedoo public libraries.

The ABA welcomes written submissions from the public, in response to applications received. These should be lodged with the ABA by 5pm on Friday 8 October. Submissions can also be emailed to: [email protected]
