New patron for Golden Days Radio

The President of Golden Days Radio, Larry James has announced Peter Smith OAM has accepted an invitation to become patron.

He takes over from their first patron Nobby Clark AO.

In accepting the invitation, Peter says “I would be honoured to accept the position and the significance of following on from such a well loved identity as Nobby Clark AO is certainly not lost on me”.

Peter, who is a television icon in Melbourne is primarily known for his work at GTV-9 over many years.

He worked with radio stations 3AK as a “Good Guy” and also on 3UZ in the 1960s.

He is community minded and is currently chairman and patron of the GTV Foundation and he is also a Life Ambassador for Australia Day.

In 2004 he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia “for service to the community, particularly through voluntary promotional assistance to charitable organisations”.
