The Cancer Support Group  has announced Capital Radio’s 1206 2CC and Forever Classic 1053 2CA have become supporters of the Convoy for Cancer Families.

2CC and 2CA will replace FM104.7 as the major sponsor of the Convoy and will host the Lead Truck and Lead Bike auction. The Cancer Support Group would like to thank FM 104.7 for their support.

The Cancer Support Group found itself at a Crossroads after this year’s Convoy for Cancer Families.

“We’ll be forever grateful for their support over the years, but we did some online research with our Truck drivers and Motorbike riders and the overwhelming response we received from our survey was that they listened to 2CC and 2CA when on the road”, said CEO Melissa Gardiner,.

With that in mind the group set up a meeting with Michael Jones and Peter Davidson from Capital Radio’s 1206 2CC and Forever Classic 1053 2CA. “I was nervous going in because I know how much radio support means to Convoy and how popular the Lead Bike and Truck auctions are with not only our drivers and riders, but the public as well. It couldn’t have been easier, Michael and Peter were very excited to be a part of the event and wanted to work on ways to maximise exposure for the Cancer Support Group, and at the end of the day, we have over 900 families we help in the region, and we need a media partner, who will help us achieve those goals”, said Melissa.

As in previous years the Support-A-Truck will be launched through 2CC and 2CA in October, this not only allows businesses to be a part of a moving billboard for 12 months, it also allows families to place in memoriam messages to loved ones lost from Cancer.

The Lead Bike auction will take place on Wednesday March 29th, and our Lead Truck auction will take place on Thursday March 30th 2017. This gives people fundraising to lead the Convoy 2 extra months to bolster their bids.
