In survey three they hold the number one spot clearly with 15.7% while KOFM dropped to a 13.1% share.

“A record result like this is a reward for a team that continues to remain focussed on the role of informing and entertaining the community. Our listeners believe in what we do and the growth in audience reflects an increasing appetite for local content.”
There was no movement for NX FM in this survey retaining a 10.9% share ahead of Triple J with 10.1%
ABC is firmly number one in breakfast with a 19.8% share.

Remember that this is the ABC station whose staff were slashed by the Sydney-centric politically motivated cut backs of programming rather than the fat cats in Ultimo and Melbourne.
So a station which has lost staff and resources manages to finish the year as number one. What does that tell you?
It tells you that Newcastle people are choosing a non commercial alternative because they're not satisfied with the four commercial stations.
Sad to see Steve Smith no longer on the KO/NX media release. Least he no longer has to peddle the company line on what decisions are made for Newcastle in Sydney and Melbourne.
