Nick Bennett will tackle journalism on multiple platforms at the CBAA conference

Journalist and writer Nick Bennett will present a virtual workshop on Journalism & media making for a wide range of platforms at this year’s CBAA conference.

Nick says he will be looking at how stations connect with their communities across multiple platforms and what it takes to be a multi-disciplined journalist content generator.

He says, “No longer are we making radio that goes up the stick on the frequency, it might be streamed, it could be a podcast, it may have video attachments as well, that is put to Facebook or Instagram, and of course have a long term article that we can write up to bolster the article on our websites.”

The CBAA Conference takes place as a virtual event across a four-day program, running from Wednesday, 28 October to Saturday, 31 October.

The conference will concentrate on four key areas for attendees:

  • The Show — For practitioners who want to develop their content production skills
  • The Business — For Station Managers and staff, Chairs and Board Members on the ins and outs of running a station.
  • The People — To learn how to manage staff and volunteers and improve engagement.
  • The Tech — Tips and advice to improve technical knowledge including hardware, software and operating remotely.
  • 20-Journalism & media making for a wide range of platforms from CBAA on Vimeo.
