We first noticed it on our facebook feed.
BREAKING: Tsunami alert issued after MASSIVE earthquakes hits east of Australia
The quake measured 7.0 on the Richter scale.
It came from Nova 96.9’s website and was on their radio news earlier.
A quick scan of major Australian news sites, Fairfax, News etc, and there was still no mention of it.
Apart from feeling panic and an urge “to run for the hills,” we felt pride that radio is still first with breaking news.
Then we felt relief when someone bothered to scroll to the bottom of the page where it said: The Bureau of Meteorology says there’s no threat to Australia.
