Nova lineup changes, roll-out of ‘Nova’s Greatest Hits Workday’

Greg Burns’ national ‘Mornings on Nova’ scaled back.

NOVA 106.9 presenter Katie Mattin has returned to Brisbane morning radio, with Greg Burns’ 9am-1pm national ‘Mornings on Nova’ show no longer broadcast in Brisbane and Adelaide.

Jarrod Walsh shifts from afternoons into Burns’ morning slot on Nova 91.9 Adelaide, and Cale Porter makes the switch from National Up Late 10pm-1am to Afternoons 1-4pm, and will continue on national weekends.

After a stint presenting 1-4pm on the network, Mattin told News Corp she was excited about a return to mornings on Nova 106.9 Brisbane.

“I’ve missed interacting with (breakfast hosts) Ash, Kip, Luttsy and Susie, and am looking forward to the challenge of entertaining the bigger audience,” she said.

“Also, doing school drop-off every morning is exhausting.”

Nova has this week also launched a new workday music format, ‘Nova’s Greatest Hits Workday’.

radioinfo reached out to NOVA Entertainment’s group program director Paul Jackson, who said; “The greatest hits have always been the core of Nova and we will continue to play the biggest hits and champion the latest songs across the work day.”

The Greg Burns change does not appear to be a response to poor ratings. In Brisbane last survey the morning shift went up, and so did the station overall. In Adelaide, the morning shift slipped fractionally by -0.1, while the station’s overall figure was steady.
