November radio advertising revenue softens but remains up overall

Metropolitan radio ad revenue is up 2.99% to $301.710 million in the first five months of FY14, despite November figures contracting slightly.

Following nine months of consecutive growth, total advertising spend softened 1.27% to $63.498 million, according to the 2013 Metropolitan Commercial Radio Advertising Revenue, as sourced by Deloitte:

  • Brisbane and Perth performed strongly, up 2.31% to $10.239 million and 0.43% to $9.200 million respectively
  • Sydney and Melbourne were marginally down 0.72% to $19.690 million and 1.79% to $18.909 million
  • Adelaide was down 9.95% to $5.460 million

In the five months to November:

  • Melbourne has grown 4.88%  $92.356 million
  • Perth is up 4.07% to $41.775 million
  • Sydney has risen 2.7% to $93.824 million
  • Brisbane has climbed 1.95% to $46.812 million
  • Adelaide has fallen 1.92% to $26.944 million

The Deloitte figures report actual revenue received by metropolitan commercial radio stations for the calendar month and include all metropolitan agency and direct revenue.
