Mixx FM domiates Colac but is pipped by 3SH AM in Swan Hill.

Radio ratings have been released for two regions in Victoria – Swan Hill on the Murray River in the northwest of the state and Colac in the south west, which includes the world-famous Great Ocean Road. The surveys will be the first for these regions since 2014.

Swan Hill has two commercial stations serving a 10+ population of 39,000, with MIXX FM providing hit music and 3SH broadcasting news, talk, sport and classic hits.

The two commercial stations in Colac are MIXX FM and 3CS, broadcasting to a 10+ population of 48,000.

Commercial Radio Australia chief executive Joan Warner said, “Commercial radio has played a big part in the development of regional Victoria, with 3SH broadcasting since 1931 and 3CS on air since 1939.

“The stations are committed to providing local news and play a big role in supporting local events and causes.”

Both surveys were conducted from 16 July – 4 August by Xtra Insights, the official provider of regional radio surveys.
