Ray Hadley settles out of court with Richard Palmer

Friday 31 January, 2014

Ray Hadley has paid Richard Palmer an undisclosed sum to settle a dispute over bullying.

Hadley settled the matter out of court, which means the abusive tirade Hadley unleashed on Palmer may now never become public.

Palmer recorded his dressing down from Hadley, complete with colourful language and threats, then played it to station management, who were "shocked" by the recording. Hadley was suspended and later reinstated by station owner John Singleton. After that, Palmer took the matter to court in a civil suit filed against Hadley.

The action was settled earlier this month. See our previous coverage here.

Palmer's lawyer has told radioinfo: "The matter is settled to my client's satisfaction."

Lawyer John Laxon, along with Palmer and Hadley, would not comment further on the matter.
