Revamp for CBAA Community Radio Awards

Twelve new categories added for 2018.

Entries for community radio’s national awards have launched today, with the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia adding 12 new categories including Best New Radio Program, Best Online Content, Excellence in Creative Audio, Excellence in Innovative Programming & Content, Excellence in Journalism, a Station Leadership award and more.

The CBAA’s Chief Executive Officer Jon Bisset says the CBAA Community Radio Awards now have even more opportunities to recognise the achievements of stations with programs, initiatives or practices that have increased their capability and improved the services to their communities.

“These awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise some of the incredible work happening in community radio stations around Australia every day.

“The categories acknowledge the multi-faceted role these stations play as independent, free-to-air broadcasters, participatory community hubs and not-for-profit organisations.

“They celebrate the contributions that these stations make to strengthening Australian communities. We’re really excited to see this year’s entries roll in!”

Entries for the awards are open to CBAA member stations and their representatives until Wednesday, 27 June 2018.
